Data files, Optimization, gfx

I will remind at certain stages when the mod hygiene loop (PLOX, Wyre Bash, MGE, etc) should be ran so you don't have to wonder after each mod.

Most mods rely on certain large data file repositories. These are not mods but mod resources.

  1. OAAB_DATA

    1. Download main file + HD Data

    2. Right Click in MO2 Downloads > Install (will not repeat this later, see mod install loop)

    3. Repeat for HD file. Done

  2. ATTL Data (Standard; Normal 1k/2k/4k not required)

  3. Graphics Herbalism (allows for better plan gathering changes)

  4. Weapon Sheating MWSE + Bow position fix (displaying weapons on PC/NPC)

  5. Morrowind Optimization patch

    1. Check: 00 Core, 02 Weapon Sheathing Patch, 05 Graphic Herbalism

  6. Enhances Textures (AI upscaled Vanilla textures, looks good, maitain og feel)

Note: you can opt for Intelligent Textures (IT) instead but I feel IT is more violent on the eye. If you do prefer IT (search photos/videos comparison) install IT instead (not with) ET, and make sure to select IT patches below in place of ET. If you install Enhanced Textures (ET) proceed with ET patches below as this guide references.

  7. Project Atlas (optimization mesh mod, great for performance)

    1. select ET patch (or IT if you installed IT, will not specify further)

  8. Glow in the Dark (windows glow in the night with a faint light, great for immersion)

    1. After right click > Install in MO2 a prompt will show with options. Select/Check: none (do not fit with the other mods visually)

  9. Remiros Groundcover (great Grass and ground mod, the best looking for vanilla+ vibes, supports TR)

  • Run MO 2

  • Run PLOX > Accept

  • Run Wyre Mash

    • Important: Filter column by name alphabetical, then uncheck all mods that start with "REM_". These are grass plugins which are not to be included in the load order; but are used only by MGE Distant land gen (will see how in next chapter)

    • After deselecting all REM_ plugins in Wyre Mash ⇒ Select all plugins under "Installed" tab > Clean with Tes3cmd. Drink some water. Close after it finishes.

  • Run Tes3merge. Space to exit/close

  • Run Morrowind.exe, test, close
